Villa Toscana is my mother's 4th memory care facility. She was injured severely at the first community, and she ended up wheelchair bound. The 2nd place was too far away, so I could not visit her. The third place was next door to my work office, and I adored being able to see my mom at the drop of a hat. She flourished there, and she was truly was loved. However, in January, when I changed employers (40 miles away), I moved my mom to Villa Toscana, so she was not far from my home - which was a great bonus on top of their affordability and quality services. Villa Toscana has bent over backwards to assist me and my mother in her placement. They have given us reassurance (not by words - but by actions) that my mom is safe and loved. Even though the food at Villa Toscana is amazing (prepared by Giorgio's Italian Restaurant), I can bring in special Japanese treats and meals for my mom, and they will give it to her with fidelity and joy. Any time we have questions or concerns, MJ (Exec Director) is quick to respond and find ways to accommodate my mother's needs. I have never seen a more dedicated and thorough leader at a memory care. If she says she is going to do something, she does it -- and you don't have to bother following up because she contacts us as soon as it's done. Katylee, the activities director, is an absolute gem. I get so many great photos of my mom when there are super cool activities, for example, when a horse or a therapy dog visit the residents. My mom gets to do so many more activities, like gardening, drawing, exercising, and creating different pieces of art -- and I find her creations proudly displayed in her room. Singers and musicians come to share their talents, and Katylee has done an amazing job creating a place where my mom can participate and feel needed. There are always special activities and events for the families as well, and we can be sure that even when I can't attend, my mom is still participating and engaged. The staff at Villa Toscana really does care about the residents. Giselle, one of the med techs, is consistently ready to update me when my mom needs more treats or if I have questions during my evening visits. The regular caregivers are attentive and gentle with my mom. I have NEVER walked in to find my mom plopped in front of a TV in the main rooms, left to entertain herself. The caregivers all seem to love being of service, and they always greet me with kindness and a smile. If you're having difficulty finding a place to call home for your loved one with Alzheimers, you cannot go wrong going to Villa Toscana and checking them out. The leadership and employees are committed to making things right and keeping your loved one safe and engaged.
Read on Google →I moved my mom to Villa Toscana Memory Care in December, and it was the best decision I could have made for her. I visited at least 15 communities before this and felt overwhelmed and unsure of the process. Everything changed when I met MJ. She made me feel comfortable right away, didn’t pressure me, and took the time to explain things in a way no one else had. During my visit, she introduced me to the care staff, dining team, and maintenance staff. What really stood out was that she knew every resident by name. I saw her hug and interact with them with genuine love, something that cannot be faked. Villa Toscana is beautiful, but more importantly, it feels warm and caring. My mom is safe, happy, and truly cared for. I’m so grateful MJ encouraged me to give it a try. I finally have peace of mind and would highly recommend Villa Toscana to anyone looking for memory care
